Spring Has Sprung – Time to Get Fit

Alright ladies and gentlemen, the time has come to get fit, as Victoria slowly emerges from its winter sleep, the sun and the weather begins to warm up. Everyone knows what that means, time to (quickly) get that summer body into shape. It’s not easy, but it’s definitely do-able.  It’s not the best idea to continue this routine every year of putting weight on in winter and off in spring, it can take a toll on your body.

1. To Diet or Not?diet, food, get fit

This is the biggest question, and the most important thing when losing weight. Many people try these low-calorie diets, but cannot keep up the lifestyle and slip back into old ways. Truth is, you need to find a maintainable diet that is within your caloric limit. For example, if your caloric limit is 2000 calories, you should be eating 1500, giving you a -500 calorie deficit. 2. Wake Up Early

It may be hard, but with the warmer days and the sun, it becomes a lot easier. Getting your workout done in the morning allows you to remain more focused and have more energy during the day. This increases your mood and you don’t have the idea of a workout looming after a long hard day at work. Wake up early and get it done.

When it comes to losing weight for spring, the most important part is what you eat. If you do not prep meals, you are most likely to eat garbage foods. Spend Sunday nights prepping 5 healthy meals. 5. Do Not Snack

People snack for two reasons, they are bored, or they are bored. There is not a real reason to snack between meals unless you are performing hard manual labour. However, getting out of the rut of snacking is hard. To help you with that, substitute your chips and candy with a healthy, very low calorie alternative. Some things that work great are, mini peppers, celery, grapes, raisins etc. No junk food.
