With all the snow we have seen this winter, it’s no surprise if this thought has crossed your mind, “I wonder if I can get into my storage unit, or is it snowed in?” Driving around in the wintry mess is enough to worry about – we’ll make sure you have access to your storage unit even when it snows.

When the weather gets really bad and it becomes a danger for our manager to stay at the facility, we may decide to close our rental office early to ensure his safety. However, even if the rental office closes early due to inclement weather, your door access is not affected. You can still visit the facility and access your storage unit during regular door access hours.

We do our very best to clear away the snow from our facility in a timely manner. There are dedicated plough trucks that take care of the entire property, including the parking lot, roadways and the main entrances. We will even shovel out snow from the facility entrances and sidewalks if the shopping centre crews do not get to it first. Our goal is to provide our tenants as little inconvenience as possible during all types of weather, especially during the winter months.

If you visit our facility and any amount of snow or ice is in front of the access doors and in your way – you can simply contact the property manager during regular business hours and he will gladly come out and help clear the snow away or treat the ice so it melts. If you visit after hours and notice a problem, you can leave a message with our answering service and the manager will be sure to take care of it immediately when he arrives on-site the next business day. We are very thorough with snow removal to prevent this from ever being an issue. But as we all know, blowing and drifting snow, as well as melting and refreezing, can present a problem from time to time. This winter has been no exception. Not sure about you, but I don’t remember so much snow and wind this early in the season any time recently. I feel like Old Man Winter sure has it out for us this year!

Snow isn’t the only problem that winter brings. Freezing rain and drizzle can also pose a very serious threat. We treat our pavement and sidewalks to melt existing ice and prevent it from forming to make sure our tenants are safe when visiting our facilities.
